AT Shoutout: Megan Skiles
Something we're most passionate about is keeping athletic trainers (ATs) working in a profession they love even when their life circumstances change.
This was the situation with AT, Megan Skiles, who came to ATvantage needing more flexibility in her schedule. With a husband on active duty in the Navy and a young child, Megan juggles several responsibilities and was unable to commit to an entire contract, but was very excited about the per diem opportunity that we offered. It was a perfect fit for her needs as she was able to pick up work as her schedule allowed.
"My experience with ATvantage has been wonderful! They have been so supportive and provide so much opportunity for growth. I love that they are invested in every AT that they contract," says Megan.
Her reasoning for staying on board with ATvantage? The autonomy and flexible schedule gives her the opportunity to spend more time with her family. She also appreciates the support provided and our promise to put ATs first, making sure they have all the tools/opportunities to thrive and our advocacy to ensure ATs are treated fairly.
And when it comes to work-life balance, Megan shares, "It has improved my work-life balance tenfold! There is nothing more stress-relieving than knowing that I have the ability to take care of my family when I need to and be able to see the coverage I can pick up in advance so I can schedule around family events, childcare availability, etc."
This is a huge reason we advocate for non-traditional work and being self-employed: not only do you have more control over your destiny, but it can also allow the ability to stay working, while also being available to loved ones when needed.
We know you are MORE THAN A TRAINER and we're here to support you in your unique journey and keep you working in a profession you love.
Thank you, Megan, for trusting us as a company and for the major value you add to your athletes!
